REGISTRATION STILL OPEN !!!

4th bulletin of DIS2009 in Madrid (April 20th, 2009)

Dear DIS2009 Participant,

Thank you for participating in DIS 2009. I would like to share with you that there will be just over 315 attendees to the conference. I would like to wish each one of you a pleasant journey and look forward to seeing you in Madrid next week.

The conference web page http://www.ft.uam.es/DIS2009/ has just been extensively updated and should contain all information you need, so please take a look at it again before you set off. Local information will be given to you upon arrival.

The full and essentially final scientific program is available in the Indico web page

A few important items:

  • Registration will start in the conference venue ("Palacio de Congresos") on Saturday April 25th at 16:00.
  • Participants who chose payment in advance by bank transfer should ensure that a copy of the bank transfer has been sent to the Agency in charge; they need it in order to identify to whom corresponds each contribution. If you haven't done so, please do it before this Friday.
  • Delegates should wear their conference badge at all times within the conference venue.
  • Detailed information for the speakers regarding the talk format and uploading in the Indico system can be found in the web page. Speakers should have received a separate email inviting them to register in that system.
  • The Welcome Reception will take place at "Palacio de Congresos" on Sunday April 26th at 19:00 in the Foyer of the First Floor.
  • The conference photo will be taken in front of the main entrance of the conference venue on Monday April 27th at 13:15. Don't miss it!!!
  • The conference dinner will take place in "Restaurant Pedro Larumbe" on Tuesday April 28th at 21:00. The address of the Restaurant is "Calle Serrano 61" and it is located in the fourth floor of the building called "ABC Serrano".
  • The visit to the Prado Museum will take place on Wednesday April 29th. The visit has been organised in 12 groups. The first two groups will start the visit at 16:00. Every 15 minutes, two other groups will start. The last two groups will start at 17:15. These times correspond to the start of the visit and, therefore, visitors are requested to arrive 15 minutes earlier.

Extension of deadline and 3rd bulletin of DIS2009 in Madrid (March 26th, 2009)

The "XVII International Workshop on Deep-Inelastic Scattering and Related Subjects" (DIS2009), which will be held in Madrid (Spain) from April 26th to 30th, 2009 is approaching fast. Thank you to those of you who have already registered. The deadline for registration has been extended to April 1st, 2009 and we encourage those of you who are planning to attend to register as soon as possible. The web page of the Workshop can be found under http://www.ft.uam.es/DIS2009/

The agenda of the plenary sessions is available in the web page and those of the parallel sessions will be posted soon. A special session has been setup on the last day of the conference which includes talks on the LHeC and EIC projects and a LHeC/EIC panel discussion.

Announcement of LHeC premeeting and 2nd bulletin of DIS2009 in Madrid (March 2nd, 2009)

The "XVII International Workshop on Deep-Inelastic Scattering and Related Subjects" (DIS2009), which will be held in Madrid (Spain) from April 26th to 30th, 2009 is approaching. Thank you to those of you who have already registered.
DIS2009 is still open for registration and we encourage those of you who are planning to attend to register as soon as possible. The deadline for the regular fee requires registration and payment by March 25th, 2009. The web page of the Workshop can be found under http://www.ft.uam.es/DIS2009/
DIS2009 is still open for requesting talks at the parallel sessions. Please contact via e-mail the convenors of the appropriate working group:

  • Structure functions and low-x
  • Hadronic final states and QCD
  • Electroweak and beyond the standard model physics
  • Diffraction and vector mesons
  • Heavy flavours
  • Spin physics
  • Future facilities

Working Group Meetings on the LHeC
On Saturday April 25th, 2009, preceeding the DIS2009 workshop, the LHeC physics and detector working groups will hold parallel meetings at Universidad Autonoma de Madrid. Interested participants of the DIS2009 workshop are encouraged to take part.

First Bulletin (December 16th, 2008)

The "XVII International Workshop on Deep-Inelastic Scattering and Related Subjects" (DIS2009) will be held in Madrid (Spain) from April 26th to 30th, 2009. The first day will be devoted to plenary review talks, followed by three days of parallel sessions and summary talks the last day. The workshop is organised by the High-Energy-Physics group at "Universidad Autonoma de Madrid". The web page of the Workshop (including a preliminary outline of the agenda) can be found under http://www.ft.uam.es/DIS2009/

The aim of these workshops is to review the progress in the field of DIS and Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) and to lay the groundwork for future experiments. Most recent results from HERA, JLab, RHIC, Tevatron and fixed-target experiments as well as the status of the LHC experiments and the relevant theoretical developments will be covered. DIS2009 is expected to bring together about 300 experimentalists and theorists.

DIS2009 is now open for registration and we encourage those of you who are planning to attend to register as soon as possible. The deadline for the early-bird fee requires registration and payment by February 2nd, 2009. The web page will be updated as more information becomes available.
